Depending on the type of care, beds can be classified into: acute care, rehabilitation care, long-term and mental health care, among others.
The occupancy rate of beds in acute care hospitals is calculated using the quotient between the number of stays (measured in days) in acute care hospital beds and the number of operational beds in acute care hospitals, multiplied by 365 days and by one hundred.
Numerator:

Denominator:
Average number of operational beds in acute care hospitals, multiplied by 365 days and by one hundred
