Objectives
This indicator shows the level of total average spending by the healthcare system of a province per inhabitant regardless of sex, age and socioeconomic status in a given year.
The indicator is measured in PPP (purchasing power parity) units, which is the monetary exchange rate equal to the purchasing power of the various currencies, eliminating distortions created by differing price levels between countries and allowing spending to be compared internationally.

The indicator is obtained as a quotient:
Numerator:
Total health current expenditure, such as the total public and private spending on curative, rehabilitative and preventative health care services as well as on pharmaceutical products, in accordance with the SHA 2011 (System of Health Accounts) methodology of the OECD. Adjusted to PPP units. To convert from euros to PPP, the converters that Eurostat uses for Spain were used.
