Objectives

Analysing the situation and development of the situation of women in the Basque rural environment, with particular attention to agricultural professionals.

Coverage

Population:

Women and men aged 15 and over, who habitually reside in a rural municipality.

Geographical:

Rural municipalities in the Basque Country, so considered according to size and population density criteria, and proportion of GDP corresponding to the primary sector.

Time frame:

Year in which the survey was taken.

Respondents

Women and men aged 15 and over who reside in any of the municipalities that are considered rural.

Questionnaires

Sample design

Two-stage sample from 750 women and 750 men. The first stage units are rural municipalities, stratified by province and municipality size. The second stage units are women and men aged 15 and over in each of the municipalities selected in the first stage. The sample is balanced across the following variables: sex, age, nationality, level of education and dwelling type (clustered or dispersed) in each of the provinces.
