Objectives

The main objective of this statistics operation is to know the effort made by the different sectors in the economy of the Basque Country regarding the tasks of research, by measuring the human and material resources used, as well as the patents and utility models registered by companies or individual residents of the A.C. of Euskadi, with the aim to providing an indicator of the result obtained in the research.

Another important objective is to obtain a series of indicators that enable us to compare the level reached by the resources put to use in R&D in our Community, in comparison with the rest of the countries in our area ("Main Science and Technology Indicators" OECD ).

In addition the main characteristics of the research work carried out is described by means of functional classifications such as the type of research carried out, the socio-economic objective, researched products, etc.

All the companies, centres depending on Public Bodies and universities in the A.C. of Euskadi with R&D activities.
