Objectives
To collect information and inform on the state and urban activity of the general planning of each municipality in the Basque Country, as well as its adaptation to law 2/2006 of 30 june, on land and urban planning.
Adhere to the obligation on the part of the public administration to provide information on and make public the urban planning situation, given that above all it is laws and compliance thereof that condition the development of our society.
In reference to the aforementioned the aim is, within the sphere of the competence of the Public Administration in matters of urban planning, to fulfil the objectives specified in the new law. Law 2/2006, of 30 june, on land and urban planning, adopted by the Basque Parliament, in title I on general provisions and principles as well as in chapter II on general principles of urban planning in articles 4. “principle of subordination to the public interest"” 8. “principle of citizen participation” and 9. “principle of public information”.
Furthermore, it is one of the objectives of the project to serve as a basis for the development of the forms of planning contained in the law on territorial planning and law on nature conservation, as well as the figures and procedures outlined in law 3/98 on environmental protection.

The population unit referred to is all the municipalities in the autonomous region of the Basque Country

The geographic area of reference is the municipalities of the autonomous region of the Basque Country, which are grouped in the summary tables according to the total data on each municipality, by operational areas, regions and by provinces
- Time frame:

The data from the planning inventory-INBENTARIOA - corresponding to year t collect the information obtained, in each case, to the cut-off date from 1 january of the year the information refers to.
The inbentarioa data with the reference of 1 january of year t are published annually and disseminated in december of year t.
