Objectives

a) The first aim is to describe the economic structure of the public education branch in the Basque Country, outlining the different types of existing centres, according to size, levels of education taught and other characteristics such as provincial location of the centre and financing sources. This economic description of the teaching centres, together with the basic information on pupils and pupil units or groups, which is available from the centre registers with which the EUSTAT annually prepares the Irakaskuntzaren Estatistika/Education Statistics of the Basque Country, enables the preparation of different indicators for the types of centres previously described.

b)Another aim, no less important than the former, is to obtain the macro-figures of the public education sector in order to incorporate them in the Economic Accounts and Input-Output Tables of the Basque Country.
