Application of consultation of foreign trade data. Basque Country

Eustat makes available to the user a new tool for consulting data related to foreign trade of the Basque Country: Elkano.

It is an application, easy to use, that provides detailed and updated information on foreign trade in the Basque Country.

Elkano allows you to select the type of trade flow - export or import -, the historical territory where this flow takes place, the country of origin or destination of the marketed good and the type of product, using the Eurostat Combined Nomenclature. It is also possible to select the dates on which the economic transaction has taken place along with the monetary value and volume of it.

The Combined Nomenclature is a tariff classification system used internationally for the identification of commercial products that are imported or exported. It was developed by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and is used in more than 200 countries. It uses a system of numerical codes and is divided into five levels: Section, Chapter (2), Item (4), Subheading (6) and Position (8 digits), each of them more disaggregated than the previous one.

The results of the query performed in the Elkano application can be exported to Excel and CSV format.
