Register of technical projects

In 2006, in order to fulfil Decree 82/2005 of 12/4, Eustat created the Register of Technical Projects and Questionnaires for statistical operations. This register, whose control is the responsibility of Eustat, sets out to regulate the procedure for the carrying out and updating of technical projects for the statistical operations included in the Annual Statistics Programmes. These programmes include both those operations that are the responsibility of Eustat and also operations of the different departments of the Basque Government that produce Official Statistics.

Technical projects include the description of all the procedures and processes carried out in the statistical operations, as well as the general and specific objectives of each operation. These objectives are drawn up based on the quality dimensions or factors announced by the European Statistical System and quantified via quality indicators.

The documentation and quantification of statistical quality enables the regular evaluation of operations and the detection of areas within them where there may be room for improvement. Furthermore, and given its public nature, this Register intends to fulfil the requirements of the Quality Commitment in the European Statistics Code of Practice. This commitment includes the documentation of quality guidelines, training of the organisation personnel and information for the outside user.
