WILLIAM E. YANCEY

William E. Yancey is a statistics-mathematics researcher at the Statistical Research Division of the United States Census Bureau. He developed the Bigmath program, used for large-scale record linkage, currently in use for the de-duplication of the 2010 Census. In recent years, he was worked on software research and development in relation to record linkage. He graduated in Mathematics from Oberlin College and was awarded his Doctorate in number theory by the University of Maryland. He has taught mathematics at the United States Naval Academy and is an expert on optimisation. He is a member of the American Statistics Society.
