The aim of Statistics on personnel in the public sector in the Basque Country is to divulge the most significant data relating to public employees and launch a series of statistics which will provide regular information on staff numbers. The study defines the employment relationships corresponding to the categories of civil servant staff, distinguishing between career and interim personnel, and contractual staff, both permanent and temporary. It also documents interim and temporary personnel who occupy vacant posts, those who are covering for the incumbent and those who are providing a temporary service.
