The European System of Accounts (SEC-2010) does not include the production of certain activities that take place in households, such as the Household Production for Own Final Use. The need to calculate the value and volume of household production of the Basque Country under a homogenous methodology, allowing comparisons evaluating this production in terms of National Accounting, led to the creation of the Household production satellite account operation. In it productive functions can be distinguished such as the provision of housing, nutrition, clothing and care to members of the household.
