CONSTRUCTION COSTS INDEX. SEPTEMBER 2019
Construction costs in the Basque Country rose 0.2% in September 2019 compared to the previous month
Compared to the previous year, costs increased by 1.4%
There was a 0.2% rise in Construction Costs in the Basque Country in September 2019 compared to the previous month, whilst the year-on-year rate for the same month rose by 1.4%, according to EUSTAT data.

With regards to the previous month, there was no variation in labour costs (0.0%) and the cost of raw materials was up 0.2%.
This September, the Building sub-sector posted a rise of 0.1% in the cost of raw materials and the Civil Works sub-sector an increase of 0.9%. The year-on-year trends in these two sub-sectors also saw positive variations: costs of raw materials in Building were up by 1.2%, whilst costs in Civil Works posted a 0.6% rise.
The prices of raw materials consumed by sector that recorded the biggest increases in September 2019 on September 2018 included those in the following sectors: Electricity & Gas, up 10.7%, Non-metal Industry, with an increase of 3.9% and Electric Material, with a rise of 2.5%. On the other hand, the sectors that saw the biggest decreases in prices of raw materials over the last twelve months were Metallurgy, down 6.0%, Oil Refining with a decrease of 4.0% and Metal Products with a fall of 0.3%.
