This refers to people that, on the reference date, were undertaking studies regularly over the course of the ordinary school year in an official or private educational centre, whatever the teaching method (normal, free, distance learning, correspondence courses, etc.). It also includes individuals that were undertaking non-standardised studies at that time, usually in academies, or occupational training.
It is divided into the following levels:
Infant and primary: Infant Education, Nurseries, Primary Education, Adult Primary Education, Special Education or other primary education equivalents.
Vocational: covering medium and higher Training Cycles, Initial Professional Qualification Programmes (PCPI) and other vocational courses, including Occupational training.
Secondary: including Compulsory Secondary Education, LOE Baccalaureate, official music Studies (secondary level), art and language studies, University Entrance or other similar studies.
Medium-high: Technical Engineering and Expert studies, Teacher Training, Nursing or similar.
Higher: including Undergraduate university courses, four-to-six year Degrees (former Licenciatura), Engineers holding a five-year degree or similar, third-cycle university courses, postgraduate courses, master, doctorate and specialist studies.
