Redistribution of income in kind account (II.3)

Redistribution of income in kind account (II.3)

The redistribution of income in kind account gives a wider vision of household income by including flows corresponding to the use of individual goods and services that households receive for free, i.e. social benefits in kind and transfers of individual non-market goods and services; the latter two flow categories are grouped under the concept of social transfers in kind. This facilitates comparisons in time when there are differences or variations in economic and social conditions and complements the analysis of the role played by the public administration in the redistribution of income.

Social transfers in kind are registered in the resources of the redistribution of income in kind account, in the case of households, and in employment in the case of the public administration and non-profit making institutions at the service of households.

The balance of the redistribution of income in kind account is adjusted available income.
