Mother tongue

This refers to the first language learned in infancy up until the age of 3, distinguishing between children who were exposed only to Basque in their early infancy, those who only learnt Spanish, those who were exposed to both Basque and Spanish almost simultaneously and finally, those children whose mother tongue was neither Basque nor Spanish.
