Standardised multifaceted upper secondary education (BUP) and the University orientation oourse (COU)
These are outdated. They were formerly part of the education system according to the General Law on Education and Funding of the Education Reform, of 4 August 1970.
The BUP consisted of three school years taken from fourteen years of age to sixteen years of age. The BUP certificate, awarded upon completion of Upper Secondary Education, prepared pupils for 2nd grade vocational training and allowed them to take the University Orientation Course (COU), which would enable them to attend university.
