Basic general education (EGB)

Outdated. This used to be part of the education system according to the General Law on Education and Funding of the Education Reform, of 4 August 1970.

It comprised eight years of schooling, using taken by a child between six and thirteen years of age. Pupils who regularly took the various courses this entailed and made enough academic progress received the School Leaver's Certificate, and those who did not received the Certificate of Schooling.
