The source of the Statistics on the Number of Ruminants and Milk Production is the Department of economic development and competitiveness of the Basque Government and informs on the livestock production of the Basque Country; the same source informs on annual production and the destination of the milk in the dairy industry, recording its origin ¿cow or sheep- and its destination ¿direct consumption. The source of statistical information on the slaughter of livestock, taking into account the species of cattle and the destination of the product is the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food. Both sources complete the ten-yearly structural information produced by the Agricultural Census.
